Firms eye move to prime site near M-way

TWO unnamed manufacturing companies are holding discussions to occupy units of 20,000 sq ft and 30,000 sq ft on a Droitwich business park.

The units are on Stonebridge Cross Business Park, the 77-acre site that is also home to Robert Wiseman’s £35m dairy processing facility.

The discussions follow the decision by personal health service BUPA to occupy a new 21,690 sq ft distribution centre in one of the four units in the most recently completed phase, measuring 90,000 sq ft.

David Brown, a director of Stoford Developments, which is carrying out the scheme with AXA REIM, said Stonebridge Cross Business Park’s proximity to the M5 was the main attraction for many firms.

“The strategic location of Stonebridge Cross in relation to the M5, linking into the wider national motorway network, is drawing the attention of more national companies to the business park,” he said.

Sarah Le Poidevin, of letting agents Fuller Peiser, said many enquiries were from national occupiers planning to relocate within the area.

“They are attracted as much by the extensive landscaped environment of the park as by its location,” she said.

She said several national distribution and manufacturing companies had registered their interest in taking between 250,000 sq ft and 500,000 sq ft of space on the park.
