Business park move’s a blinder

THE UK’s biggest supplier of aluminum to the country’s window blind trade is looking forward to a bright future in Droitwich.

Alutrade Products is moving onto the Stonebridge Cross Business Park in October.

It has bought the final element of a new four-unit phase of warehousing at the 77-acre landscaped scheme in the town.

Alutrade Products will be distributing goods from its new 21,690sq ft warehouse and office premises in the rapidly expanding M5 corridor.

“We plumped for Stonebridge Cross because it was ideal from a distribution point of view,” said David Clark, managing director of the company.

“Also, though, we chose the area because its modern, attractive environment better reflected our new image as a supplier to the fashionable domestic and light commercial window blind sectors.”

Alutrade Products will be relocating its window blind products operation at the end of October, alongside the other three units in the development phase that are now occupied by BUPA, CMCS and Dynamic Europe.

The new scheme is the result of a partnership between Stoford Developments and landowner AXA REIM.

The two are also responding to ongoing demand by developing a further four factory and warehouse units of between 13,000 and 30,000 sq ft at Stonebridge Cross.

“We are delighted such a major Midland firm is coming to Stonebridge Cross,” said Jason Adderley, business development manager for Stoford.

“We are confident that our new units will attract major interest from south Birmingham and Worcestershire occupiers, who have been traditionally under-provided with quality freehold premises.”
